Marvel fans reckon the role of Blade in the MCU needs be recast, before the film has even properly started production yet.
The story of the MCU Blade is a tragic one so far, as Mahershala Ali’s time as the character just can’t seem to get off the ground with copious amounts of rewrites and delays to production.
Blade fans did get a little something-something though with Wesley Snipes returning as the character in Deadpool And Wolverine
The line “there’s only one Blade, and there’s only ever going to be one Blade” was hilarious at the time but now it’s sounding less like a joke and more like a prophecy.

To make matters a little bit worse, fans think Mahershala Ali should be recast before the Marvel film actually starts getting made.
“I've been rewatching the Wesley Snipes trilogy this week” began a post by Reddit user ParticularAbalone232, “whilst the films vary greatly in quality, I'm sure we can all agree that Snipes' performance as Blade does set a high bar for which the next film(s) will be compared to.”
They continued to say “As an actor, I have no doubt that Ali's ability would be able to deliver the goods, however, having realised he's now 49 years of age, and will be nearer 51 by the time of the supposed November 24 release that the new film holds, I can't help but feel this is an incredibly shortsighted casting that won't lead to many sequels.”
It’s a good point, and with so many Marvel projects to juggle it does mean we sometime have to wait a while before seeing our favourite characters again.

“I think this is a general concern with the Marvel movies- There is too much time between the character appearance” argued one fan in the comments.
Others are unsure if the film will “ever see the light of day,” so perhaps a break and a recast are on the cards anyway, especially since it’s said Mahershala Ali has been getting frustrated with the constant back-and-forth.
Guess we’ll just have to see what happens, maybe they can shoehorn Blade into the next Avengers films somehow?
