Iron Man’s story may have come to an end, especially with Robert Downey Jr. now getting ready to take on a brand-new role in the MCU but an Iron Man ‘sequel’ is just getting started.
With Downey Jr. hanging up his gold-titanium alloy suit in favour of donning the mask of Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, Iron Man’s saga finally came to an end in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Take a trip down memory lane with the trailer for 2008's Iron Man below!
It was a bittersweet moment as Marvel fans experienced Tony Stark’s story since 2008’s Iron Man but it is not all doom and gloom as a ‘sequel’ is just around the corner.

I am, of course, referring to Ironheart, the upcoming television miniseries which is based on the Marvel Comics’ character with the same name.
Set to air on Disney+ on 24 June, 2025, a recent rumour has hinted at our first Ironheart trailer arriving in May and will give us our first look at Dominique Thorne reprising her role as Riri Williams/Ironheart after the events of Wakanda Forever.
With the news of an imminent trailer, Marvel fans soon descended on r/MarvelStudios_Rumours to share their thoughts on the future of the show and it seems as though not everyone is convinced, especially as the show has been a long time coming.
“Sigh,” user maxfridsvault commented.

I hate to say it, but this is going to be trashed on by everyone.
It's like the final boss of the lackluster Disney+ series in the middle of the “we’re so back” year of Marvel, and on top of it all, the teenage girl is taking on the mantle of IRON MAN.
We’re never going to hear the end of how Marvel ruined Tony Stark’s legacy or some BS like that…
I liked her in BP:WF but Marvel…why are we introducing this character now of all times?”

With others claiming there is a “disaster incoming” and that “nobody cares”, it seems as though we have already judged this show before it has even aired. As usual.
Despite the pessimism, Ironheart is expected to air this June on Disney+.
