Marvel has finally dropped a first look at the upcoming series Ironheart, a spiritual successor to the Iron Man films.
Ironheart will follow Riri Williams who you may recall was introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Following the events of that film, MIT student Riri returns to Chicago where she’ll “unravel threads that bring danger and adventure right to her doorstep,” according to an official copyright database filing.

It’s somewhat surprising that it’s taken Marvel so long to lift the lid on this project, especially as it was filmed back in 2022.
You have to wonder whether the cast thought it would ever see the light of day.
Take a look at Ironheart in action below, alongside some of the MCU’s other upcoming projects.
Ironheart, as you may be able to tell, dons a suit similar to Tony Stark’s so it’s nice to finally have someone kind of filling the gap left behind by Tony.

Rather excitingly, the series is also reportedly due to introduce long-awaited villain Mephisto.
A casting call was leaked during filming which appeared to confirm that Sacha Baron Cohen would be bringing the supervillain to life.
It’s believed that Mephisto’s introduction will be light, with the character mostly being saved for future projects but that’s not a major surprise.
It seems the MCU continues on its upwards streak as while the teaser for Ironheart may be short, it appears to have won fans over.

“I’m actually excited about this for one main reason. Tech vs magic. I honestly don’t care who the characters are. I'm just happy we have a hero going against someone that isn’t their mirror match,” wrote ProfNesbitt.
“Riri was a really fun addition to Wakanda Forever, and she's always pretty fun in the comics. This and the whole tech vs magic slant has my interest,” added sarcasticdevo.
User nox_tech commented, “Goodness. The boots clamping on, the hands being offset glove things, an overall modular suit. Love to see it.”
Of course, there are naysayers - “And the crowd goes mild,” one said - but they’re certainly drowned out.

Ironheart isn’t set to premiere until 24 June 2025, so it’s going to be a while until we get to enjoy the series, but we’re off to a promising start.
