Following reports that the recent cast list reveal for Avengers: Doomsday might not be anywhere close to the film’s final roster, fans are starting to get concerned that the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film may be biting off more than it can chew.
You’ve doubtlessly heard by now, but just in case you haven’t, Disney revealed the full (well, maybe not “full) cast list for their next big Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday, during a five-hour-long live stream.
The current roster is absolutely stacked as it is, featuring members of the main MCU timeline, the Fantastic Four: First Steps’ timeline, and the Fox universe’s X-Men timeline.

Yet, according to quite a few sources (including Marvel themselves), there’s a lot more names left to reveal… somehow.
The most telling sign that more cast members are yet to be announced comes from the official Marvel Studios Instagram account, which commented "there's always room for more..." in reply to a post from Robert Downey Jr. detailing the live-stream.
Well, that’s great and all but, fans are seemingly not on board with the size of the cast as it is based on the comments on a thread detailing the news over on the r/MarvelStudios_Rumours subreddit.
“I’m just gonna say, I don’t understand the logic behind making the initial cast reveal mostly characters that aren’t traditionally Avengers,” commented user EightBiscuit01.

“Most of those guys are either not the main team and/or will likely only have a couple minutes of screen time. Why did they not use the first round of cast announcements to tell us who the titular ‘Avengers’ are.”
“How is this thing going to be structrured?” replied user jnighy.
“We are talking like..5 minutes of screen time on average for each character??”
Unless this film’s runtime is going to be close to four hours, I do understand the concern here. What exactly would be the point of, for instance, bringing back the Fox X-Men actors if they barely get to say a few lines?

Hopefully we’ll get some more details regarding the planned length of the film soon, because I’m personally not feeling optimistic about this project at the moment.
