The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe teaser for their upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday has already broken several MCU-related records, and it sounds like Disney isn’t finished building hype quite yet.
The live-streamed cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday, which aired this week on Wednesday, was possibly one of the most boring things I’ve ever subjected myself to, second only to the MCU series Secret Invasion.
It seems a five-hour-long stream of some chairs was more than gripping enough for the world at large however, as the stunt has broken several MCU-related records.

According to a write-up from Deadline's Anthony D'Alessandro, the live-stream was the biggest in Marvel Studios' history, pulling in over 275 million viewers and garnering over 3 million social media mentions.
That also apparently destroys the record that Deadpool & Wolverine's Super Bowl trailer set, which is (as of writing) the most viewed trailer of all time.
Disney clearly isn’t done, however, as a recent Instagram exchange between Avengers: Doomsday’s star Robert Downey Jr. and Marvel Studios revealed that there's a bunch more casting announcements that have yet to be made, with Marvel Studios stating "there's always room for more..."
Obviously the social media campaign is far from over, considering we’ve got well over a year until Avengers: Doomsday hits theatres on May 1, but this extremely successful first step implies that Disney are gunning to beat another of their own MCU records.

Disney's MCU currently holds the top seven spots on the list of highest-grossing superhero films, with 2019's Avengers: Endgame raking in a worldwide gross of almost 2.8 billion dollars.
Avengers: Endgame is only second to one film in the overall highest-grossing films list, James Cameron's 2009 film Avatar. This early attempt at building hype for Avengers: Doomsday more than implies that they’re eyeing up that top spot, as I’m sure Disney would be thrilled to brag about said achievement to their investors.
