Marvel fans were captivated by Agatha All Along when it aired last September but now, after long last, they have finally received confirmation over a popular fan theory.
Airing on Disney+ last September and following Agatha Harkness after the events of WandaVision, Agatha All Along follows the witch’s story as she recruits some unlikely allies and seeks to regain her former powers.

Starring alongside Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan/Maximoff and Aubrey Plaza as Rio/Death, the show was a hit which has made it all the more disappointing after the news that it had not been renewed for a second season.

One such reason is because a second season meant that fans would not get answers when it comes to Agatha’s son, Nicholas Scratch, whose true parentage is never revealed.
However, that has not stopped fans from theorising who Nicholas’ father may be, especially as Agatha claimed that she made him “from scratch”.
Now showrunner Jac Schaeffer has commented on the theory that it is none other than Rio/Death who is the father of Nicholas, especially as the young actor bears a striking resemblance to Plaza.
Speaking at the Agatha All Along panel at PaleyFest on 22 March, Sasheer Zamata, who played Jennifer Kale, brought up the fan theory.

Luckily, Schaeffer had a response.
“When we were developing it, we got a lot of questions. ‘Who’s the dad?’ We were like, ‘Why do you wanna know?’” they explained.
“It was something that was important to the writers, and that was important to me. It was really lovely, that was something the fans said that we could confirm.”
Up until now, Schaeffer had confirmed that they chose an actor who looked like Plaza to take on the role but other than that, she had neither confirmed nor denied the theory.

However, her response was met with thunderous applause and fans finally seemed satisfied with her answer.
We may not get a second season of Agatha All Along but hopefully we will see these characters set up for another project in the future.
After all, being the son of a powerful witch and Death herself is one hell of a story to tell.
