Marvel fans are preparing for the news that a beloved character will be recast in an upcoming Avengers MCU movie.
Marvel fans are used to MCU characters being recast with the likes of Edward Norton being replaced by Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard as James Rhodes aka War Machine, and Joe Locke replacing Julian Hillard as Billy Maximoff (Wiccan), to name a few.

When Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, we knew that the X-Men in the MCU was only a matter of time.

We got our first taste of the mutant heroes with Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, followed by the animated series, X-Men ‘97 and Deadpool and Wolverine in 2024.
The first X-Men movie in the MCU hasn't been officially announced yet but many fans will be hoping Xavier’s students will make their first appearance sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, CBM.com reports (via Daniel Richtman’s Patreon), that Jesse Plemons (Civil War, The Irishman, Zero Day) is being considered for the role of X-Men character, Henry Philip McCoy aka Beast.
Previously in live-action form, the role of Beast has been played by Kelsey Grammer and Nicholas Hoult. If Jesse Plemons is the next actor to play the blue, hairy mutant, that could be an excellent choice in my opinion as he’s a fantastic actor.

It’s claimed that Jesse Plemons will play Beast in either Avengers: Doomsday (1 May 2026) or Avengers: Secret Wars (7 May 2027).
Of course, we should take all unconfirmed rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise but hopefully, all will be revealed in the coming months.
The next movie to arrive in the MCU is Thunderbolts* in cinemas on 2 May 2025 which will conclude Phase 5 with The Fantastic Four: First Steps kicking off Phase 6.
