It certainly feels as if there’s a shift brewing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We’re mere weeks away from the release of Deadpool & Wolverine which has already promised us “universe-sized” stakes that are certain to shake up the MCU.
Then, there’s the fact that we could soon be dealing with a new big bad after rumours surfaced claiming that Disney had dropped Johnathan Majors’ Kang following a series of accusations made against the actor.

Nothing has yet been publicly confirmed but insiders say that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is now being internally referred to as Avengers 5.
We should receive some confirmation soon as Marvel is set to return to San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H this summer for a super-sized panel.
It was back in 2019, following the release of Avengers: Endgame, that Marvel last dazzled us with a major Hall H panel, revealing the plans for both Phases Five and Six of the MCU.
Here’s to hoping that this year’s edition, paired with the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, can win back disillusioned fans.

We could see an announcement concerning the future of Black Panther.
ICYMI: Take a look at Deadpool & Wolverine’s zany trailer below.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was by no means the film Marvel was originally hoping to create but of course, the extended Marvel family was shocked and saddened by the news of T'Challa actor Chadwick Boseman’s unexpected passing in 2020.

In that 2022 film, we saw Letita Wright’s Shuri take up the mantle of the Black Panther, but it seems that Shuri could be passing the title along to a third contender.
According to so-called Marvel insider Alex Perez, via a Q&A with The Cosmic Circus, Perez suggested that Shuri will eventually step back as the Black Panther and allow Prince T’Challa to assume the role.
Prince T’Challa is the son of T’Challa and Nakia, portrayed by Divine Love Konadu-Sun. He was previously seen in the post credits scene of Wakanda Forever.
“Shuri is still taking time for herself, as she is not interested in the slightest in being Queen of Wakanda,” Perez explained.

“She is still keeping the mantle of Black Panther, BUT, I am hearing that she will eventually pass on the mantle to the one true successor of the throne of Wakanda, the young Prince T'Challa, son of King T'Challa.”
“It is to my understanding that she, along with Okoye and Nakia, are raising this child so he can eventually take on the mantle and become the next ruler of Wakanda and Black Panther."
Of course, I urge you to take this with a pinch of salt until any official announcements are made.
