Kang The Conqueror is one of the most controversial characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the moment, as it’s unclear what exactly the studio plans to do with him.
Previously played by Jonathan Majors, Marvel Studios cut ties with the actor over criminal charges leaving many wondering if the role would be recast or scrapped entirely.
His last appearance was in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which didn’t do much to cement him as an Avengers-level threat.
Rumour has it though that the role will be recast, with Colman Domingo from Fear The Walking Dead and Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man stepping into the conqueror’s shoes.

Colman Domingo provides the voice for Norman Osbourne in the new animated Spider-Man series, and has directly addressed the rumours of him playing Kang in an interview with Variety.
“There had been conversations of me coming into Marvel in some way, so we did follow up with a sit down meeting with the heads of Marvel. I did do that, we talked openly about the landscape of Marvel and the Kang rumors.
Domingo went on to explain that he didn’t think Kang was the right fit, saying “I want a role to be mine, whatever I develop. Something didn’t feel right to me about replacing someone. I want to build something from the ground up that is my own.”
The good news is Domingo is keen to still join the MCU, and there are several roles that could be the right fit if there’s scope for it.

Fortunately fans agree too, as one said him stepping into the role of Kang would “really be wasting Colman Domingo, he's got much great potential.”
Another said: “Odds are they're gonna bring him to the main timeline as Norman Osborn. Casting a black dude on its own is enough to distinguish their portrayal from Willem Dafoe, anyhow. He does a good job on YFNSM so I wouldn't mind.”
From the sound of things it looks like Kang will remain in studio purgatory, but a new live-action Norman Osbourne in the next Spider-Man film would be pretty cool too.
