Marvel's impending smash hit Deadpool & Wolverine is already set to feature more celebrity cameos than your average season of Saturday Night Live, but at least one specific theory regarding Lady Deadpool's casting has already been put to rest.
As revealed by Ryan Reynolds in an Access Hollywood interview, Lady Deadpool will not be played by... Ryan Reynolds.
There's been a lot of popular theories regarding the character's casting, but the idea of Ryan Reynolds acting across from himself ultimately took hold of the internet immediately after the trailer featuring Lady Deadpool first dropped.

It would be very on brand for Ryan given the direction he's taken the previous two Deadpool movies, so the theory wasn't completely without merit, however he was quick nip it in the bud.
As he stated in his Access Hollywood interview when asked about the theories surrounding the casting, "My favourite one that travelled was me... I don't know how I could do that with my hips. I cannot walk like that to save my life."
Other popular choices for the role include Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' wife who he met during the filming of 2011's Green Lantern (hey, at least something good came out of that film), and Taylor Swift (for... some reason?)
The Blake Lively pick definitely makes the most sense as far as casting choices go. Blake and Ryan often enjoy making fun of each other online, so the reference would doubtlessly make sense to the majority of movie-goers.

As far as Taylor Swift is concerned, the only real "evidence" that supports this choice is her apparently well publicised friendship with both Ryan and Blake.
Of course Marvel definitely don't want to squash this theory regardless of if its true or not, as Swifties coming out in droves to potentially catch a glimpse of their idol will definitely do wonders for the box office numbers.
One much less publicised but equally likely theory is that Morena Baccarin, who plays Deadpool's fiancé Vanessa, will be taking on the role as a different variant of Vanessa from an alternate timeline.
Unfortunately, we've still got a few days left to wait until we have it confirmed either way. But if it does end up being Taylor Swift, I will livestream myself eating a Deadpool branded hat.
