Deadpool and Wolverine officially return in 2025, Marvel confirms

The boys are back in town

We thought that Deadpool & Wolverine was the first and last time we’d see the dynamic duo together, but there’s more shenanigans to come.

Deadpool & Wolverine may not be the movie of the decade, but the countless easter eggs and brilliant secrets it packed in kept fans fed for weeks.

But the entertainment of the film, which garnered fairly positive reviews, disappeared as quickly as it came.

For those who miss the bromance between Marvel’s Deadpool and Wolverine, you’re in luck because the pair are officially returning in 2025.

Their antics won’t play out on the big screen but upon the pages of comics instead.

The Deadpool/Wolverine series comes from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Joshua Cassara. This partnership, much like Deadpool and Wolverine, is a match made in heaven.

Fans who enjoyed the bloody violence of the film needn’t worry that the comics will strip that action away.

During an interview with IGN, Percy spoke of the plans the pair have for the new series.

“Josh and I really hit it off when we were working together on X-Force and became great friends [...] This is all to say: we were both so damn excited to get the band back together.

Deadpool/Wolverine is us cartwheeling onto the stage and shredding our guitars once more while smoke machines churn and pyrotechnics explode all around us,” Percy explained.

This new series won’t be taking cues from the MCU though, because this series was in the works before Disney decided to make the movie.

“The film was both a hit and a hoot, but we started working on this series long before we ever saw Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds tear each other apart in a Honda Odyssey,” continued Percy.

“So, I can’t say it was an influence, but I can say the dynamic between the characters will feel familiar to theatergoers: fun, thrilling, and both adversarial and bromancey (not to mention violent as hell).”

That sounds like our heroes all right.
