Nintendo has revealed their bafflingly stupid pricing decision for the Nintendo Switch 2 port of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and fans are less than pleased.
As revealed by IGN's Rebekah Valentine, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild doesn't come packaged alongside its previously released DLC. For that, you'll have to pay an extra $20.
That means if you want the full experience on the new system, you’ll have to pay a total of $90; $70 for the game itself, and the extra $20 for the DLC. This game came out in 2017, by the way.

This news follows a series of other ridiculous pricing decisions from Nintendo, such as the $80 price tag associated with Mario Kart World and the $10 price tag for the Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour tech demo.
It seems fans aren’t on board with Nintendo’s greedy strategy, though, as the comments over on the r/gaming thread detailing the news are decidedly (and unanimously) negative.
“As a Nintendo fanboy, this is hilarious. Nintendo following their long tradition of following up a successful console with pants-on-head decisions,” commented user UpperApe.
“I expected more improvements to BotW and TotK than just frame rate, load times, and HDR. Some stupid GPS garbage app where some voice actor spouts off some non-consequential fan-lore is not it.”

“This will be the 3rd generation console it's been released on... And they're charging $90 for it,” replied user alphatango308.
“Complete insanity.”
On the plus side, there is a workaround… of sorts.
You could buy the OG Switch version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, then pay for the upgrade and the DLC. That way you’re probably looking at around $70 instead of $90.

Still, it’s an obnoxiously greedy decision from Nintendo. They could have rewarded long-time fans by packaging all of this together, but instead they want to make a couple of extra bucks.
Unfortunately, I’m sure it’ll prove to be profitable for them in the long run, so I guess we’re the real mugs at the end of the day.
