The future of the Avengers looks set to change things up if this Deadpool & Wolverine teaser is to be trusted.
We’re not saying our favourite Merc with a Mouth is a liar, just that he’s a trickster when the mood takes him.
Change is on the horizon even without this quiet teaser from the new Deadpool & Wolverine, though, because Marvel has unveiled its first look at MCU’s replacement Avengers.

Due to the way the story of the new Deadpool movie pans out, it leaves the door open for multiverse shenanigans to take place.
It’s typical fodder for Marvel now, however, that doesn’t mean the opportunities it presents are any less appealing.
The reason the door has been left so wide open via these Deadpool & Wolverine easter eggs is due to all the Fox adaptation throwbacks scattered throughout the film.
Fox’s Marvel can be as different as it wants, as demonstrated by a couple of key teasers.

Namely, Ultron’s head, and Stark’s prototype for a new Captain America shield in Happy’s office.
When it comes to the sentry head, Ultron could come back; although defeated, there’s nothing to say the villain didn’t backup his programming to spare him from such finality.
As for the prototype shield, now that Stark has created his nanotechnology, that could be used as the finishing touch to said shield.
Once implemented, the weapon would act similar to James Rogers’ abilities in Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow.

This isn’t to say that a live action adaptation of the 2008 animated series is happening, but simply that MCU’s next Avengers lineup could look markedly different.
It’s certainly a thrilling concept that we love the sound of.
We’re not just experiencing potential new beings, though, but also the return of beloved Marvel characters as well.
For starters, Wolverine will return to MCU, but it isn’t the one we expected to see.

Tired as we might be with superhero blockbusters, it would seem that Marvel has plenty of ideas to bring to the silver screen yet.
