The last month has been an exciting one for The Last of Us fans with news of the show’s season two cast coming to light. The most exciting however was finding out who would play the buff anti-hero Abby.
It has officially been a year since HBO released the first season of The Last of Us and now 12 months later, we have finally got our first glimpse at some of the actors who will be joining the show for its second season. With Isabela Merced taking on the role of Ellie’s love interest Dina and Young Mazino playing Jesse, we are already off to a good start.

However, the most exciting is set to be Kaitlyn Dever who will take on the role of Abby, the antagonist of The Last of Us Part II. Despite Dever originally being considered for the role of Ellie way back when, she will now find herself going against Bella Ramsey’s Ellie in the show’s second season and the pair’s first meeting was quite the awkward but cute one.

In an interview with GamesRadar+, Ramsey said: "I’m incredibly happy with who has been cast. It’s exciting for me. I’m happy to have a whole new bunch of people come and join the family. It’s gonna be a lot of fun."
It turns out that Ramsey and Dever had met previous to being cast in The Last of Us. "I’ve met Kaitlyn once in the most stupid place [at] a gala. I met Kaitlyn there very briefly when we were waiting for our cars. I knew they were talking to her about casting at that point, so it was just sort of quietly like ‘Hey’ and shared numbers and stuff."
They added: "She’s excellent, Isabel and Young as well, I’m really excited to get going with all of them."
Despite delays during the writer’s strike, The Last of Us season two is set to begin filming soon and will cover the events of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II. With the show’s first season seeing record breaking figures, there is no doubt its second season will be received just as well.
