Jack Black has officially confirmed he’ll be playing Steve in the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie.
Film and TV adaptations are all the rage at the moment, with the Fallout TV series doing exceptionally well, and the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 3 films promising a treat for “diehard sonic fans.”
GAMINGbible sat down with the cast of Fallout for a game of snog, marry, irradiate. Watch the chaos unfold in the below interview.
Another gaming-related film on the way next year is Minecraft, a live-action adaptation of the popular block building game of the same name.

Now if you’re wondering what live-action Minecraft might look like, join the club, as it seems everyone is equally as confused by the decision to not make the film animated like the Super Mario Bros Movie.
Story details are unknown at the time of writing, though what we do know now is that film and music superstar Jack Black will be playing the film’s protagonist, Steve.
Black confirmed as much with a recent video walking through his on-set trailer, which had “Steve” inscribed on the door and had the inside decorated with pictures of the Minecraft character.
He’s joined by co-stars Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, and Jennifer Coolidge amongst others, though it's unknown which characters they’ll be playing.

This marks the second video game film Jack Black has starred in so far, the first being the recent Mario film where he played the plumber’s iconic villain Bowser.
The actor has also expressed interest in starring in other projects, including a live-action Red Dead Redemption film which he believes to be a no-brainer given the success of the Rockstar Games series.
Minecraft is set to release in cinemas sometime in April 2025, meaning we can probably expect a trailer sometime towards the end of the year.
