After months of speculation, rumours and leaks, one of the year’s biggest gaming releases has officially been confirmed.
Yes, it is none other than The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which is set to receive a remaster for the first time in almost twenty-years.

The Bethesda RPG was first released back in 2006 and is widely regarded as the best in The Elder Scrolls series by many and now fans both old and new can experience it all over again.

The news of its confirmation came just yesterday when Virtuous Games, the developers behind it, posted a bunch of screenshots of the Oblivion remaster on its official website.
Without doubt, the images show a drastic improvement on the original which makes sense considering that the remaster is expected to feature improved graphics and gameplay for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and the PlayStation 5.
Now according to industry reporter Jeff Grub, Bethesda’s remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be released as early as 21 April, which by my calculations, is just a few days away.
On an episode of Giant Bomb’s GameBreaking News show, Grubb revealed that he has “gotten separate confirmation” that this date is correct and reveals that the game will be shadow-dropped.

“I'll give people a week now... the week of April 21st,” he reported.
“So, basically the last week of this month [...] it should shadow drop then, which I think other people have said but I've gotten separate confirmation that that's going to be the case.
So, shadow-drop last week of the month…”
This is exciting news to say the least but that is not all.

It is believed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be a day-one release on the Xbox Game Pass so if you are a subscriber, you will be able to dive into the Bethesda classic at no extra cost!
So if you want to experience Oblivion with an Unreal Engine 5 makeover, you just have a few days left to wait.
