The Elder Scrolls VI potential release window continues to leave fans of the Bethesda series more frustrated than ever.
Ah, The Elder Scrolls VI, where is thou The Elder Scrolls VI? Like seriously, Bethesda, when are we getting a gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated fantasy RPG, let alone a release date?
We all know that Bethesda announced the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series at E3 2018, so long ago, that E3 doesn't even exist anymore. The reveal trailer caused mass excitement but conveniently, there was no release date and we all probably know why.

Depending on what rumours you choose to believe, The Elder Scrolls VI could be a couple of years away from this point or more. It might even be safe to assume that the game is a next-gen title. We can only speculate.
Understandably, the radio silence surrounding the release date of The Elder Scrolls VI continues to frustrate fans of the series. Perhaps now more than ever.

“The gap between Daggerfall and Skyrim will be smaller than the gap between Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls VI,” reveals Redditor scubasteve254. “Unless the game releases next year, which is highly unlikely.”

For reference, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall was released in 1996 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was originally released in 2011, a gap of roughly 15 years.
At the time of writing, the gap between Skyrim and The Elder Scrolls VI is roughly 14 years. That being said, we all know there’s more of a chance of Donald Trump not face-planting a bowl of cheesy Wotsits than The Elder Scrolls VI releasing this year, so it’s very likely to exceed the 14-year mark.
“Yeah, we know. No need to post it every day,” replied a frustrated ThodasTheMage, a sentiment shared by many others on the thread.
“Thank god you posted this, I haven't seen anyone else talk about the time gap between TES games before,” exclaimed a Reddit user.

“Honestly, it's going to be a little hard to forgive Bethesda for wasting so much time and resources on a space game that nobody asked for,” said pantiesdrawer, referring to the 2023 sci-fi RPG, Starfield.
“Everyone is hating, but what else are we gonna talk about on a subreddit for a game that we know little to nothing about?” asks the wise Ketamine_Yodaa.
Hopefully, Bethesda will reveal the illusive release date and first gameplay trailer for The Elder Scrolls VI at some point this year, but I won’t be holding my breath.
In the meantime, we can at least play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with an Xbox Game Pass subscription to keep us busy.
