Harry Potter quietly unveils brand-new character for unexpected 'sequel'

Meet Higgledy

A new character has debuted in the Wizarding World, a rather cursed house elf.

If you’re into theme parks then you may be familiar with the fact that Universal Orlando Resort is due to open a new park in May of this year.

Universal Orlando Resort is already home to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, as well as the water park Volcano Bay.

Well, they’ll soon be joined by the highly anticipated Universal Epic Universe.

The new theme park will bring to life several hugely popular franchises.

There will be five themed areas in total: Celestial Park, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic.

It’s unsurprisingly the latter which I’ll be focusing on today.

Potter fans in Florida can already visit Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade but the Ministry of Magic will soon be joining that list when the new themed land debuts.

The Harry Potter TV reboot is due to begin filming this year.

In fact, visitors will be able to visit two editions of the Ministry of Magic as the land will take fans to 1920s wizarding Paris, as seen in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, as well as 1990s London, reflecting the Ministry of Magic most of us are more familiar with.

The flagship ride in the land will be known as Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, and it’ll see riders caught up in the trial of Dolores Umbridge after traveling to the Ministry via the Floo network.

I have no doubt that it’ll be a top-notch state of the art experience, just like the pre-existing Harry Potter ride experiences on offer.

Today though, I specifically want to fill you in on a new character that’ll be debuting as a part of the ride.

Universal has released several photos of Higgledy, Dolores Umbridge’s former house-elf.

The character has been specifically designed for the Epic Universe park, and they look an interesting individual.

There’s no word on whether Higgledy likes or detests her former owner, but she has certainly assumed some of Umbridge’s traits.

Higgledy can be seen in the images wearing Umbridge’s shoes and jewellery whilst occupying her former office.

I’m imagining this is a scene riders will go through.

It’s cool that these rides offer us a glimpse into what took place in the Wizarding World following Voldemort’s downfall.

We’ll find out more when the theme park and ride officially opens on 22 May.
