HBO is trying to garner excitement for the upcoming Harry Potter adaptation, previously showing off a teaser for the show.
In the short tease, the Harry Potter logo is made up of floating candles from the dining hall of Hogwarts before revealing the HBO logo.
HBO's adaptation of Harry Potter is gathering steam, and backlash.
It’s not much of a tease, to be honest. One Harry Potter Twitter account picked up the trailer and asked their followers, “Who’s excited for the new series?”

It turns out, not many people are eager to see the books adapted again.
The answers to that question came flooding in from fans, with the replies all being very similar.
“No, thank you,” said one fan, who believes the show should shift focus to untold stories within the Wizarding World.
A simple, “No one, thanks,” came from another.

It seems that so many simply aren’t interested in seeing the characters they love being played by new actors.
Of course, many are sadly taking aim at the casting of Snape, who will now be played by a very talented black actor.
“We ain't watching, lol,” came one reply in the Twitter thread.
“Nope, I'm sorry to say, I’ll stick with the movies and books I love,” notes one fan.

Very few, if any, are refusing to watch because of the book’s author’s views and behaviours, though there are a few calling out the writer.
“Um, no. I thought we were boycotting J.K. not giving her a 'new' series to profit from,” exclaimed this user.
Other long time fans are simply happy to stick with what has come before, with one noting, “Some things are better left untouched. The books and films are good enough. There’s no need whatsoever to ruin it.”
It’ll be interesting to see how HBO deals with the backlash and safeguards the actors who have signed onto the project.
