HBO’s Harry Potter TV reboot is finally set to begin filming this year.
In fact, it’ll do so at the Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, UK, where the original film series was filmed.
It’s already been confirmed that the TV series will reuse some sets, like that of The Great Hall, with others being redesigned.

When I say reuse, it’s more likely that the set will be recreated as the real thing is a permanent fixture of the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London: The Making of Harry Potter which allows fans to tour the film sets.
Despite filming getting underway soon, the show’s casting is yet to be confirmed.
It’s with that in mind though that I’d expect that to change soon. I’m sure the series’ young stars are buzzing with excitement at the thought of being revealed to the world.
Rumours are swirling for the adult characters, with the latest being that John Lithgow may be on board to portray Dumbledore.

Take a look at the show’s teaser trailer below.
As reported by Deadline, Lithgow is reportedly in final negotiations to portray the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, following in the footsteps of the late Richard Harris and Michael Gambon.
Deadline reached out to HBO for a comment, to which the network replied: “We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumour and speculation. As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalise deals.”

I have to say, whoever takes on the role of Dumbledore has some big shoes to fill, but I do think that Lithgow is a fantastic choice - an actor who is more than capable.
As for where you might recognise the six-time Emmy winner, well, where do I start?
The actor starred in the recent Conclave, which is currently doing the awards circuit, or perhaps you remember him as Churchill in The Crown.
There’s The Old Man, Dexter, Footloose, Interstellar, Killers of the Flower Moon … I could go on.

As I said, if filming is set to get underway in a few months time, you’d imagine that would coincide with official casting so remain patient, my friends.
