It’s official, the Fallout TV show has a release date, and it’s closer than you’d think.
After months of waiting, the Fallout Twitter account has randomly dropped an announcement teaser saying: “PLEASE REMAIN CALM. An important dated message brought to you by your friends at Prime Video.”

The video attached was a series of dial-up noises, featuring that familiar green glow of the Pip-Boy every Fallout protagonist wears on their arm, as well as its iconic mascot, the Vault Boy.

Vault Boy slowly types something into a computer, before flashing us all a cheeky smile and a big thumbs-up as the release date appears on screen.
The show will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 12 April 2024 and will be adapted for the small screen by Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. Bethesda exec Todd Howard will also act as the executive producer.
Announced all the way back in 2020, the collaboration between Bethesda and Amazon will tell an original story about the post-apocalyptic wasteland we’ve all grown accustomed to over the years while including plenty of stuff featured in the games, like the now iconic Power Armour, and the Ghouls as two examples.

A leaked trailer for the series appeared online not too long ago, and there have been plenty of behind-the-scenes images depicting some of the brilliant-looking sets and costumes. Most of it looks like it’s come straight out of one of the games, so it’ll likely look amazing when it finally premieres.
Hopefully, the show will tide us over until we get a new Fallout game, Fallout 5, which will supposedly be released sometime after The Elder Scrolls VI, though it’s anyone’s guess as to when that’ll come out.
The Fallout TV show will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 12 April 2024, and could potentially be renewed for additional seasons if critic and fan reception is positive.
