There’s a lot of love going around right now for the iconic Tomb Raider series, perhaps more than it’s been a while. So it makes sense for publishers to capitalise on that love by releasing new Tomb Raider goodness.
Earlier this month, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered was released which includes remasters of the original games in the trilogy with the option of switching between old visuals and gameplay on the fly. It’s a fantastic little collection that brings all the nostalgia for returning fans while introducing a legion of new fans.

What’s more, we also know that a Tomb Raider remake is on the way which will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and a Tomb Raider animated series is arriving on Netflix this year which stars Hayley Atwell, known for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So what else can Tomb Raider fans look forward to, I hear you ask? If you’re a fan of tabletop gaming and Dungeons and Dragons, then you’re in for a treat with the upcoming Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truth tabletop RPG. The officially licensed RPG is being created by Evil Hat Productions. Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truth will be playable for three to six players, so gather your friends and get your pencils and papers equipped.
“Explore hidden tombs and uncover powerful secrets! Defy danger as you race to discover forgotten artefacts and prevent nefarious forces from exploiting them!” reads the description on a blog post.”Mystery awaits, and sometimes, the answers we seek can only be found in shadow.” Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truth promises “ action, exploration, and self-discovery” and “perilous challenges and tough choices as you learn what it takes to be a hero.”
Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truth will be presented in a full-colour hardcover book and is set to receive a public playtest soon. A crowdfunding campaign is also expected to launch sometime in 2025. So it will be worth keeping tabs on the Evil Hat Productions social channels to keep updated for when that public test goes live.
As for the Tomb Raider Unreal Engine 5 remake, that is yet to be officially revealed with a release but it is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
