The Last of Us Part II is a brilliant game, and it’s kind of hard to argue otherwise. Naughty Dog’s 2020 action-adventure title took home seven awards at The Game Awards in the year it released, including the prestigious Game of the Year award, which basically speaks for itself.
That said, the game definitely wasn’t without its controversy - many players were unhappy with certain plot points (which I’m not going to elaborate on here for the sake of spoilers, but if you know, you know), and the fact that the game had a heavy focus on Abby, who you play as for a large portion of the game.
While you’re here, be sure to take a look at the trailer for HBO’s The Last of Us show, which is currently set to premiere next year.
Maybe people have moved on from the negativity now though, as there have been multiple instances recently of fans back-pedalling on their initial criticisms, and coming round to fully accept Part II (especially since the release of the Part I remake). And what better timing to do so, because Abby’s voice actor, Laura Bailey, has now confirmed that she’d love to return to her role and voice the character again in the future.

“I would definitely go back to her,” Bailey told Comic Book Movie. “I know there was a lot of drama and response to her character, but it was one of the most influential roles I’ve had in my life. I would 100% go back to play more Abby if the opportunity came up. The series looks amazing and I cannot wait to see more of it.”
At the time of writing, a third game in The Last of Us series is yet to be confirmed, but let’s face it, it’s bound to happen eventually, right?
