There are few games quite so deserving of a sequel than Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us. First releasing in 2013, the gritty but oh-so-stylish episodic mystery adventure is, by many, thought to be one of the studio’s greatest games, and it’s not hard to see why.
The sequel was first announced back in 2017, but development was put on pause when Telltale suddenly closed down the year after, putting hopes for the follow-up in jeopardy. So, understandably, when the game was re-confirmed back in late 2019, it came as quite a surprise. Anyway, it’s been a minute since that initial announcement, and thankfully, we finally have a new trailer to feast our eyes upon.
Check out the brand new trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 below.
I think we can all agree that it’s looking absolutely amazing. Those gorgeous visuals from the first game are back and better than ever, and it definitely all fits the vibe that existing fans know and love. Perhaps most excitingly, we also finally have a release window - 2023. Admittedly, that’s both far away and very vague, but the point is that it’s happening, and for real this time.

Fans have been expressing their excitement in the YouTube comments: “The visuals, the music, the voice acting. I am beyond pumped for this game. Even if it's mediocre, it'll still be worth it just for the presentation alone,” commented Dianne Bassett. “Second best Telltale game. Glad to see it come back,” wrote Boss Tapia.
So, how is this happening? Well, Telltale was revived under the exact same name in 2019, only under the ownership of LCG Entertainment. In terms of The Wolf Among Us 2 specifically, it’s being co-developed by AdHoc Studio, which, as reported by Eurogamer, has a lot of former Telltale employees on board - about half of the team is made up of them, to be exact. AdHoc was co-founded by Nick Harman, who was also the co-director of the original game, so basically, a lot of the talent from The Wolf Among Us are behind the sequel, too.
Obviously, we’re going to be waiting a while before The Wolf Among Us 2 is in our hands, but it’s certainly something to look forward to, and hopefully we’ll see more of it before too long.
