A weekend has now passed without a new episode of The Last of Us to watch. I feel empty.
All good things must come to an end eventually, and with the first season of The Last of Us officially over, we now have a very long wait ahead of us before we can expect the second season to air. During a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Bella Ramsey revealed that the next batch of episodes probably won’t be hitting our screens until the “end of 2024, early 2025”. Oof.
The Last of Us Part I is coming to PC on 28 March - take a look at the trailer below.
While season one was a very faithful adaptation of the events of the first game, it remains to be seen how Part II will be handled. For a start, the showrunners have confirmed that it’ll take multiple seasons to tell the sequel’s entire story, so don’t expect everything to be wrapped us as concisely as it was for Part I.
Advert
No matter how the sequel is adapted, we can obviously expect to see Abby Anderson appear very early on in the next season. The vengeful, buff Firefly stirred a lot of controversy in The Last of Us fandom when Part II first released, mainly for being a big fan of golf. Although we still don’t know who’ll be playing her in season two, we just got our first proper glimpse of her thanks to a new official poster.
“No TLoU on HBO tonight. But Season Two is already on its way! Endure and survive!” The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann wrote, along with a poster which shows a muscly arm holding a hammer.
Unless someone out there is very good at recognising elbows, I don’t think we’re any further forward when it comes to figuring out who’s taking on Abby’s role, but it does imply that she’s already been cast, so hopefully we’ll find out soon. Shannon Berry, anyone?
