Those who have been hoping for a The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake can get ready as one will be arriving in 2025 and it will be completely free.
Ok, so it won’t be an official remake by Bethesda. However, the fanmade project known as Skyblivion aims to combine both The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim by using the latter’s engine.
Take a look back at the original The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion below!
Set to launch next year, the volunteer-based project by the TESRenewal modding group aims to bring the classic Oblivion title to a new generation of gamers and the team recently released an update on the game via a Youtube video.

The 5th episode of the Skyblivion Development Diary showcases all the new features that have been added to the project, including a detailed look at the Great Forest which is now full of foliage, animals and life.
We also see the changes being made to the UI, which let’s face it, definitely needed improving from the original Oblivion title. It is clear that the modding team has fans in mind as the UI will make navigating the vast world a lot easier.
Although Skyblivion will be completely free to download, it does require players to own both The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as well as any DLCs.
However, once downloaded, players will be able to modify it to their liking by selecting which components they want included.

“This includes all enhancements developed by the team such as our Landscaping Overhaul, Interior Overhaul, City Overhaul, Weapon/Armor Overhaul and much more,” the official website explains.
It’s not long before we will have access to Skyblivion so those who want to experience the original Oblivion all over again but with significant improvements to gameplay and graphics will not want to miss out on this epic project.
