Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick has spoken on why GTA VI has taken so long to make, and also touched on how long we’ll be waiting for the second trailer for the game.

GTA VI is going to be 2025’s biggest game; whether you’re a fan or not, it’s going to make huge waves and create a blockbuster moment for the games industry.

This isn't trailer two for GTA VI, sadly, but watch it anyway

Anticipation for the game is astronomical, and fans have been in a state of hype for many months.

They’ve often asked, what has taken Rockstar Games so long, though?

Well, according to Zelnick in an interview with Bloomberg, the answer is pretty simple.

It’s all about anticipation, and building it up with a long absence, trickling teases here and there, getting the fans as excited as possible.

It’s working, the game is one of the most talked about titles and will surely sell multiple millions of units on day one.

The Take-Two boss notes that this is the same reason you’ve not seen a second trailer for GTA VI yet, because anticipation can still go higher.

Zelnick also notes that GTA V and GTA Online both continue to make money for Rockstar Games, and remain profitable.

Beyond the creativity and exploration of new possibilities, gaming is still a business, and if something is making millions of dollars, you don’t simply walk away from it, especially when the developer still has fresh ideas for that game.

One thing Zelnick doesn’t mention, but should be brought up, is the amount of detail Rockstar Games puts into their titles, making the development process longer.

On top of that, harnessing new technology, and creating an immersive world is a painstaking task, so it’s going to take a long time to craft something special.

2025 is the year though, and all things being good, we should see more very soon.
