Syphon Filter 3 has been rated for PlayStation 5 in Korea, filling out the series on the console following the discovery of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow ratings earlier this year (thanks, Gematsu).
In April, Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow were all rated for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 through the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. Accordingly, Syphon Filter and Syphon Filter 2 then popped up on the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog for Premium subscribers. Therefore, this is definitely an instance of where there's smoke, there's fire.

It's worth noting that Syphon Filter 3 commemorates its 21st anniversary this Sunday, which would be a convenient time to reveal its inclusion into the retro collection. The third game isn't the highest rated of the series, criticised for its prioritisation on action over stealth and missed opportunities to improve on the graphics and gameplay, but it's an important chapter in the Syphon Filter story, especially for newer players.
Advert
On the other hand, it's not known whether or not it will be the PlayStation Portable or the PlayStation 2 version of Dark Mirror that comes to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The former takes out the mature content of the game like the violence, language, alcohol use and frightening scenes to bring it to a more accessible rating. Curiously, The Omega Strain is omitted, yet given that it's arguably the weakest of the entries, we won't be making a huge hullabaloo about its absence. We'll have to wait and see whether the games appear on PlayStation Plus Classics.
