Few fantasy worlds offer a level of immersion quite like Bethesda-crafted RPGs but one fan's dedication to feeling immersed will quite literally shock some.
Now perhaps more than ever, VR is taking gaming to new levels of immersion whether you’re a member of the Brotherhood of Assassins, a Caped Crusader in the city of Gotham or indulging in some Half-Life: Alyx. As long as you don't suffer from instant motion sickness, VR gaming is something that I can wholeheartedly recommend checking out at least once.

When we enjoy a critically acclaimed and beloved RPG such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, surely it couldn't get more immersive than playing a VR adaptation, right? Not if you’re the VR content creator GingasVR.

“A true, full-length open-world game for VR has arrived from Bethesda Game Studios. Skyrim VR reimagines the complete epic fantasy masterpiece with an unparalleled sense of scale, depth, and immersion. Skyrim VR also includes all official add-ons,” reads the description of the VR adaptation.
GingasVR has spent approximately $15,000 (£12,000) on the ultimate virtual reality set-up that brings the pain. Aided by an HTC headset, Vive trackers and smart plugs to replicate in-game temperatures, GingasVR has built a haptic vest that simulates pain through vibrations and electric shocks when taking damage.

What's more, Skyrim VR has been modified so that NPCs react to her voice and has even created a unique NPC that responds to GingasVR directly. In a video uploaded to her social media channels, GingasVR said that in-game combat can prove to be “very painful.”
This incredible haptic suit even responds when drinking and eating in-game food and reacts when taking fall damage too. Just take a look at GingasVR’s video featuring the haptic suit in action and try not to laugh or at least crack a smile.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is available for compatible VR headsets on PC as well as Sony’s PlayStation VR.
