An original, sealed and graded copy of Pokémon Yellow worth up to £12,000 was ruined by US customs leaving its owner devastated.
As reported by Gamesradar, the sealed copy of Pokémon Yellow was graded by Wata Games and had a high condition rating of A + and 9.2. This copy of the beloved Nintendo Game Boy classic was originally protected by a sturdy acrylic case.
Sadly, upon arriving through US customs, the acrylic case was not only broken, but the retail seal was ripped off, and the front of the box was quite literally torn to shreds.

To give you an idea of what this game's worth, if you picked up Pokemon Yellow second-hand boxed, you could pay anything between £100 to £150. A used second-hand copy of this Game Boy classic isn't all that rare.
However, a copy that is not only retail sealed but also graded in nearly perfect condition, well, that’s on another level entirely. At the time of writing, like-for-like graded copies of Pokémon Yellow are selling for around £12,000 on eBay in the UK and $10,500 in the US.
What this means for the buyer of the graded copy of Pokémon Yellow remains to be seen. As a collector, this is genuinely sad to see and we hope the seller has some form of compensation.
