The weirdest little Pokémon romhack of all time just dropped, featuring none other than Mario himself, and I highly suggest you get your hands on it now before Nintendo erases it from existence.
Alpharad is probably one of my favourite content creators out there at the moment, and silly stuff like their latest project Super Mariomon is exactly the reason why.
Super Mariomon is pretty much what it sounds like. It’s a Pokémon romhack featuring Mario and his extended cast of allies and foes, the majority of whom you can catch and use in battle.

Alpharad announced the project on April 1st, but don’t let the tongue-in-cheek choice of date fool you.
While the date of its announcement might lead you to believe Super Mariomon is just an extremely impressive April Fools bit, you can actually get your hands on the game for yourself– although I’d highly suggest going through the proper channels to do so instead of following Google’s advice.
If you wanna snag Super Mariomon for yourself, head on over to Alpharad’s official Discord server and download the rom there.
I’d suggest doing so very, very quickly however, because Nintendo is known for being quite litigious when it comes to fan-made projects like this.

For the time being, Alpharad’s Discord server is the safest way to get ahold of the rom for yourself. You might have to venture through some sketchy, virus-filled sites to get your hands on it in the future if you don’t grab it from there now, though (should the project be targeted by Nintendo’s army of lawyers).
Alternatively, I highly suggest just giving Alpharad’s video a watch if you’re not bothered about playing it for yourself.
I wonder what the inverse of this would look like. Maybe a Paper Mario-style dungeon crawler with a party of Pokémon? Wait, never mind, I think I accidentally just invented Pokémon Mystery Dungeon again…
