Scream 6 might be the most shocking in the series yet, with actress Melissa Barrera confirming that the directors are going to lay it all on the line with a sequel that is "hundred times gorier" than 2022's entry.
This is one heck of a statement because it's hardly like Scream 5 coloured within the metaphorical horror lines. As a "re-quel," a word that probably proves we should start making more original movies, Scream 5 follows Sam Carpenter, the daughter of Billy Loomis. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette all reprise their legacy roles while a fresh-faced cast of characters battle Ghostface in a transformed Woodsboro.
While I've got you, why not watch the trailer for summer slasher The Quarry? There might be a familiar face or two to be found:
Playing Sam Carpenter, Barrera couldn't have been happier with the opportunity and the warm welcome she received from the horror fandom. The raucous response allowed Paramount Pictures to greenlight the sixth Scream film, and while details are appreciably under wraps for now, the actress was able to share something enticing with Collider.

“There was a saying on set because Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillett] were always asking for more blood and more sweat. They always just wanted more,” she said of the directors. “With the last Scream, they were tip-toeing and trying to be very respectful of what the franchise had been, up until that point, and keeping their inner gory dreams at bay. But with this one, they were like, 'We're going all out.' It's potentially a hundred times gorier.”
Personally, I'm not sure how we measure gore empirically. Do we use a scale of "buckets" per Carrie? In any event, this is music to the ears of stalwart Scream fans.
