Palword confirms biggest expansion to date, 6 times larger than the last

Chonky update landing soon

The developer, Pocket Pair, has confirmed the largest update yet for Palworld, coming in December.

Discussing the update on the game’s Discord channels, the Palworld developer teased that the new area would be the “largest, harshest, and most mysterious” yet.

The next update for Palworld will be six times bigger than the last one.

This update comes at a time when Pocket Pair is defending itself in court opposite Nintendo, who struck them with a lawsuit some months ago.

Palworld originally launched for PC and Xbox Game Pass exciting millions of players who finally had a monster collecting RPG that bordered on an MMO.

While players have dropped off over time, we called it “a great survival game that’s more than ‘Pokémon with guns.’”

Despite the dip in player count, the developer is still beavering away on content updates and expansions for the game.

This includes an upcoming crossover with indie game darling, Terraria.

The update, coming next month, is due to be “six times larger” than the game’s previous update, which added the area of Sakurajima.

Players will likely find a lot of new monsters to catch and work alongside, however, nothing more has been mentioned on what we’ll find when the expansion drops.

Nor is there any information on how the game will crossover with Terraria.

Will we see some of the bosses from that game infiltrate Palworld? Will some of the crafting items come over?

Pocket Pair have told fans, “Don’t miss it!”

Hopefully, players will flock back to the game once again and buoy up the developer as they battle Nintendo.

If you missed it, earlier this year, Nintendo finally actioned a lawsuit against the developer for copying three key patents used in the Pokémon games.

While news on that is quiet, right now, we’re sure that 2025 will see the fallout of this historic case.

It’s great to see Pocket Pair shrugging off the stresses of it to continue supporting the game.
