An official Resident Evil 9 reveal by Capcom seems imminent as suggested by a recent registration on Metacritic.
Following months of rumours, Capcom finally announced that work has already begun on the next release of its iconic survival horror series. In July this year, Resident Evil 9 was officially announced but details on the project were kept deliberately vague other than it's currently in development.

Details were so vague that Capcom provided no information on what story Resident Evil 9 would tell, when or where it would be set, or what characters would feature. Still, that vague announcement was enough to excite fans of the series worldwide who were eager to learn more.

Now, Twitter users Gosetsu and pl_evil have spotted that Resident Evil 9 has been registered on the aggregate website Metacritic.
There were very few new details on Resident Evil 9 other than PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S listed as platforms. Mention of a PC release is absent, but it's likely that the platform will also get RE9 on the same release date as its console counterparts.
Some have speculated that Resident Evil 9 could be officially revealed at The Game Awards this coming December. If RE9 is to be released sometime in 2025, a reveal at this time could be very likely.

Typically from Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017 and Resident Evil 4 remake in 2023, each new entry in the survival horror series has been released between January and June. So if Resident Evil 9 has a similar release window, its first reveal at The Game Awards this December makes a lot of sense.
We’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more about the progress of Resident Evil 9.
