Resident Evil fans roast a leak growing more frustrated and eager to learn news on the upcoming entry in the beloved Capcom series.
In July 2024, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 9 (currently not its official title) is in development. However, details on the game were kept deliberately vague such as its release date, story, characters, platforms and more.
At this point, we’ve had to rely on rumours to get our information on the next Resident Evil title with some claiming that we could finally get Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine team up for the first time in a video game.

The only time the duo has teamed up was in the decent 2023 animated movie, Resident Evil: Death Island. So, if the duo would team up in the next game, it would be a huge moment for fans of Capcom’s iconic survival horror series.
Many fans (including myself) would love to see the next Resident Evil game be released this year but there’s a chance that might not happen, according to a story from Rely on Horror.

“No way”, exclaimed sarcastic Reddit user PamelaBreivik, replying to a post in the forum with 1Comrade1 adding “I was looking forward to playing it today.”
“I’d prefer Capcom take its time, we don’t want another Resident Evil 6,” said Luzbel90 speaking the absolute truth.
“Take your time, Capcom. Take your time. Let’s have another belter,” declared Odd_Seaworthiness145. Most members on the thread shared the exact same sentiment wanting the game to have as much time as it needs to cook in the oven.
Unlike the last game in the series, the 2023 Resident Evil 4 remake, it wouldn't surprise me if the next game is a current-gen title only.
