A recent discussion around Red Dead Redemption 3 has left fans feeling a little heartbroken, and it's pretty easy to see why.
Red Dead Redemption 3 is almost certainly coming after GTA VI, but fans might want to brace themselves. For one thing, the game is so far down the road it probably won't even launch on the current console generation. It's also looking increasingly unlikely to feature the return of a fan favourite character.
Take a look at some of the best Red Dead Redemption 2 wins and fails below!
As I'm sure you know, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, one that follows Arthur Morgan and tells us how the gang John Marston was once a part of fell apart. Fans largely consider Arthur Morgan to be one of gaming's greatest protagonists, but you shouldn't bank on seeing him in Red Dead Redemption 3.

“I’m certain we will see Red Dead Redemption 3 one day,” Arthur's Morgan actor Roger Clark said on Twitter. Exciting, obviously, but don't get your hopes up.
“When that will be – I have absolutely no idea," he added. "Don’t count on Arthur’s involvement either. His story has been told, I feel.”
There is, of course, a chance Red Dead Redemption 3 ends up being yet another prequel, which could set the stage for a younger Arthur to appear. However, if Luke believes Arthur's story is finished (and it's hard to disagree), then there's a chance we could see a much younger version of the character played by someone different.
Certainly, as much as I think the adult Arthur's story is done, I'd be very interested to see Red Dead Redemption 3 follow Dutch and Hosea in their prime as they take in the likes of Arthur Morgan and John Marston. We already know Arthur was 14 when he joined the gang, and while Roger Clark is one hell of an actor, I'm not sure he could quite pull that off.
