Some say that you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth and that is quite the case with this Red Dead Redemption 2 knowledge.
In my opinion, 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is without a doubt one of the best games of all time. I’d even pick it above Rockstar Games’ other goliath, GTA V. On the aggregate website Metacritic, Red Dead Redemption 2 scored 97 (also the same score as GTA V).

Whether it’s the compelling story, its seemingly endless activities, interesting NPCs, gorgeous visuals that still hold up seven years later or just the urge to explore its wondrous map, there’s a lot to appreciate about Red Dead Redemption 2.

In terms of its story, I won't give too much away right now, though I will venture into spoilers soon. Red Dead Redemption 2 turned me into a tearful, emotional mess once or twice.
Now, before we proceed, consider this to be your final spoiler warning.
Early on in the game, you acquire a horse. If you’re careful, you can pretty much keep the same horse from start to finish, one of many emotional bonds you will form throughout the game.
If you do manage to keep the same horse, you will be treated to an additional scene towards the end of the game that can be considered part of a better ending.

Keeping hold of a horse reviver and using the stables are great ways to keep your horse alive. Sadly, just as the game comes to an end, no matter what you do, your horse will ultimately die.
This was one of the moments that broke me, especially as I acquired the white Arabian horse near the start of the game and this fine stallion was with me until the bitter end. However, you can keep your horse alive but there is a catch.
“Is there a way to keep your horse after those final missions?” asked a Reddit user.
“If you put your horse into a stall and use a different horse for the final mission, he won't die,” answers Complex-Swimmer-9998. “Sadly, you can't give the horse to John.”

So yeah, you can save your horse using the method mentioned above, but he won't be available in the epilogue. But at least that’s a better scenario than your loyal companion having to die.
