If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you might want to check your emails. Sony has been emailing select customers with a spicy limited-time offer which you won’t want to miss out on.
PlayStation Plus has really been proving its worth this year with tonnes of brilliant freebies. In recent months, countless incredible games have hit the service - Extra-tier subscribers in particular have been eating good, with the likes of Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Ghostwire: Tokyo all available to play via the game library. However, even Essential-tier subscribers have had some gems come their way - highlights this year have included Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Take a look at our review for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart below.
Obviously though, to be able to cash in on any of the PS Plus freebies, you have to pay for a subscription in the first place, and none of the tiers are particularly cheap - even PS Plus Essential is £49.99 a year. Thankfully, as ComicBook reports, Sony has been emailing a number of existing subscribers with a hefty 25% discount as an incentive to renew their subscription.

According to the terms and conditions listed in the email, the offer is only being sent to users whose subscriptions were already approaching renewal by 15 May, so if you’ve not been sent the offer, it might be that you didn’t fall into this category. Furthermore, the discount only applies to the subscription tier that you’re already paying for - if you’re subscribed to Premium, you can only get 25% off another Premium subscription, for example. The email also seems to confirm that you can’t upgrade your subscription before activating the deal in order to get a discount on one of the pricier tiers, unfortunately.
Assuming that you’re eligible, there’s not long at all to claim this offer - it’s only available until 31 May, so be sure to check out the PS Plus page on your PlayStation console and see if you have the option.
