One of the best games I have ever played is leaving PlayStation Plus in April, and I genuinely think you owe it to yourselves to play this one before it leaves.
As per usual, a new wave of PlayStation Plus games is landing on the service next month– but every time new games enter, old games leave, and this time I think it’s losing one of its very best.
The game in question is Slay the Spire, the 2019 rougelike deck-building hit from developers Mega Crit, which will be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra at an undetermined point next month.

If the terms “rougelike” or “deck-builder” are normally a red flag for you, then I highly suggest you ignore your preconceived notions and take a crack at this one regardless, because it’s a lot simpler to play than you might assume.
The gameplay loop is straightforward: you climb a tower, defeating enemies along the way and earning new cards and relics every time you best an encounter.
Your deck starts out the same way every time you restart, but by adding and removing cards along the way, you’ll slowly begin to make your deck extremely consistent.
Every character has a completely unique pool of cards to choose from too, which leads to a lot of uniquely different playthroughs.

Don’t just take my word for it, though, as users over on the r/PlayStationPlus subreddit are urging everyone to give it a go too.
"Never thought I was gonna like it until I tried it so good and addictive it's even on the iPhone," commented user GuestNo3331.
"I never played any card games before it and now I have like 500 hours with this game," replied user Ibrahim-8x.
I have an absurd amount of playtime in Slay the Spire, something around 300 hours, and yet it’s still a game I boot up every week without fail. Frankly, I think Sony should make this one a PlayStation Plus mainstay permanently.
