I don’t know about you but it feels as though I am never going to get through my video game backlog. So much so that I recently started playing Disco Elysium for the first time despite it being released in 2019. However, it appears I am not the only one to discover this 10/10 RPG recently thanks to PlayStation Plus.
Developed by ZA/UM, Disco Elysium is an RPG that tells the story of an amnesiac detective who must solve a murder. You soon realise this isn’t as simple as it sounds but with your playthrough totally unique to you, you can choose everything from what you do to what you say. With a unique skill system at your disposal, you can choose your strengths and weaknesses as you go. Whether you play bad cop or good cop is up to you and how you tackle every quest relies on a standard dice roll.

Now free on PlayStation Plus, many players are also discovering the narrative-driven RPG. “So... I finished Disco Elysium. And... Wow. Just wow. It's not for everyone, but for me it was one of the best games in my 28 years of playing. Solid 10/10 for me,” read one post uploaded to r/PlayStationPlus. “And I played it BECAUSE of PS+.”

Another comment seemed to share the sentiment. “I bought Disco Elysium as soon as it became available on console and I was really pleased to see it on PS Extra because I knew it meant a lot of other people would try it out,” they wrote. “The writing is so much better than any other game I've played and it's genuinely very funny.”
The Reddit post continues with players sharing some other games they discovered thanks to PlayStation Plus. This includes titles such as Returnal, Control, Death Stranding, Sea of Stars and more. With the subscription service providing highly rated games for just a fraction of the cost, it is hard to see any cons against it.
