Be sure to refresh your PlayStation 5's system software today as the latest update has rolled out globally, and it addresses the console's performance and gets it ready for the new controller.
That would be the DualSense Edge, announced in the summer of last year. As a "high-performance, ultra-customizable controller," the controller lets the user activate and deactivate different button inputs and adjust stick sensitivity and dead zones. Ideal for first-person shooters like Warzone 2.0 or competitive racing games like Gran Turismo 7. The controller hits the shelves on 26 January which means players have a lot of time to download the new PlayStation 5 update before it releases.
Only two days to go til the release of the first episode of The Last of Us - take a look at the trailer below!
In a nutshell, the version 22.02-06-50.00 update addresses the performance of the system. What has been improved is not stated, however, it is best to ensure that your console is as up to date as possible to avoid any errors. Additionally, it integrates support for the DualSense Edge, which is important owing to the immense level of customisations and the ability to save different control profiles on that controller.
