The very first PlayStation 5 system software update of the year has arrived, and you are not going to miss this one folks.
Thank you in advance to MP1ST's James Lara for the source on this one!
Sony has just dropped a new patch for the PS5, and the patch notes for these bad boys are getting more and more succinct with every passing month.

PS5 System Update 25.01-10.60.00.06 has apparently “improved system software performance and stability” and “improved the messages and usability on some screens.”
That’s it, by the way. That’s everything that’s stated in the patch notes. Absolutely breathtaking stuff.
Over on the r/PS5 subreddit, folks were quick to poke fun at Sony for dropping such a jam-packed update.
“Good thing Sony released this,” commented user PewPewToDaFace, “I mean how on earth can my PS5 function without more stability improvements.”

“At some point I have to wonder just how unstable my console was before,” replied user PenitentGhost.
Jokes aside, these “stability” updates are usually code for Sony patching out system vulnerabilities (such as ones that can be used to jailbreak your console), so that’s why they seem so frequent.
On the plus side, there is a little bit of a silver lining to this paltry update.
As confirmed by other folks in the r/PS5 subreddit, it seems that the latest update hasn’t removed the PlayStation anniversary themes - even though Sony previously stated that they were only going to remain on the system temporarily.

Hopefully, this means that, following the outcry from fans, the PlayStation anniversary themes are here to stay for good. Honestly I never understood why they weren’t planned to be permanent from the get-go.
Or maybe they’re planning to remove them and sell them back to us in a future update. But nah, a video game company wouldn’t do something as underhanded as that, right?
