If you’re at a loss over what to play this month, Xbox is adding four new free games to its subscription service.
There are already quite a few bangers available on Xbox Game Pass already, such as a hugely underrated open-world experience.
However, if that hasn’t piqued your interest, perhaps these new free games will instead.

For an entirely different experience, why not play The Plucky Squire?
Wargroove 2 is a strategy game with a groovy difference. Battle foes as you embark on another high sea adventure where you join Queen Mercia and her crew once more.
EA sports fans can enjoy the trials and tribulations of EA Sports FC 25 this month, should Queen Mercia and her allies not sound appealing to you.

This first day release is the next stage in your digital sporting career, and arguably one fans of the series will want to check out.
Next we venture into icy cold conditions via the post-apocalyptic world of Frostpunk 2.
“Discover a city-survival game set 30 years after an apocalyptic blizzard ravaged Earth, transforming our world into a harsh, icy wasteland. In Frostpunk 2, you must face a new deadly threat that appears on the horizon – human nature and its unsatiated thirst for power.”
The last of the four freebies is Ara: History Untold.

In this experience, you can lead your civilisation to golden heights or ruin depending on the choices you make.
“Explore new lands, develop arts and culture, conduct diplomacy, and go head-to-head with your rivals to prove you are the greatest ruler ever known. It's Your World Now.”
All of these Xbox free games will become available from mid-September onward.
Of course, with the arrival of new titles comes the inevitable departure of others; a total of 10 games will be leaving this month.
