A cult Xbox 360 classic is getting an unexpected remake and it’s coming out very soon.
The Xbox Live Arcade was a wonderful place, not only because it was the platform to buy digital content such as DLC in an instant, but it was also a place where we could discover indie darlings and retro classics.
Check out the Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - Reanimated trailer below!
Xbox Live Arcade existed during the original Xbox era arriving in 2004 but it wasn't until the Xbox 360 that it fulfilled its full potential. For many, the likes of Fez, Limbo, Castle Crashers, Super Meat Boy, Braid and much more were discovered on this iconic platform.

Originally released in 2011, one other classic of that platform was Breath of Death VII: The Beginning and while perhaps not as popular as the games mentioned above, it still garnered a loyal following.
On the PC platform Steam, Breath of Death VII: The Beginning has a respectable “Very Positive” rating by users, so as reported by Comicbook.com, news of a remaster arriving soon should be music to those fans' ears.
“The fast-paced supernatural RPG, Breath of Death VII, has been resurrected and remastered! Embark with our undead heroes on a bone-rattling post-apocalyptic adventure through an undead world, now more vibrant than ever, to exhume the mysteries of the past,” reads the description of the game on Steam.
Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - Reanimated is being developed and published by Shadow Layer Games. In case you’re interested, the original version of the game is currently on sale via Steam right now for just 49p.

There is no price listed on Steam for the remaster at the time of writing, only the option of wishlisting it. Furthermore, there seems to be no mention of ports for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, but hopefully that will change.
For now, at least, Breath of Death VII: The Beginning - Reanimated will be available on Steam from 12 December 2024.
