Steam is chock-full with free games, and it’s tough to navigate whether they’re worth your time, or just throwing into your library.
This is where it’s worth listening to other players, who take to Steam to review games, and help us decide if they’re worth starting.
Given a 10/10 by fans, this Steam game might be worth a look
Lunacid - Tears of the Moon, is a surprise free game, and I’ll admit I know nothing about it beyond what’s listed on the Steam page.

A first-person dungeon crawler, Lunacid is built using the Sword of Moonlight - King’s Field tool, and expands stories laid out from 25 years ago.
The game’s creator notes that players will “Explore various dungeons for powerful weapons and spells to forestall the previsioned end of the world.”
Taking players into the kingdom of Lyria, you will play as Calamis who has received a vision of the end of the world.
A Great Old One is slumbering beneath the earth and will soon plunge the world into darkness - it’s only by exploring and finding powerful weapons that you can avert danger.

Fans are quick to review the game and sing its praises.
“Having played through the game in its entirety, I've got to say I only have one real gripe; I wish there was more!” exclaims one player.
“Absolutely stellar,” notes another fan, after finishing the game.
It certainly sounds like a big hit with fans, although many note that it’s quite clunky, but that could be by design, given it’s based on a 25 year old engine.

One user has given Lunacid a perfect score, saying, “10/10. Love the story and it is a nice Prequel to Lunacid, the fact something like this is free is mind boggling to me.”
Clocking in at around six hours of play, this seems a lovely little game to pass an evening and introduce you to the series.
