I’m expecting the internet to be very normal today, I say with the largest dose of sarcasm possible. It’s not going to happen is it? Starfield’s review embargo drops later today and that can only mean one thing: discourse incoming.
Starfield marks Bethesda’s first new IP in 25 years, so you can understand why there’s so much hype and intrigue surrounding it. It’s also set to be an absolute whopper of a game, featuring over 1,000 planets spread across 100 star systems. Let’s not forget that New Atlantis is also the largest city that Bethesda has ever created. What I’m not a fan of though is how the release of Starfield seems to have incited a new era of the so-called ‘console wars’. I thought we’d all agreed that every console platform is great? If you are someone who’s hyped for Starfield (and there’s plenty of us), early access opens up very soon. In fact, some of you can dive in today.
Take a look at Starfield in action below.
For those of you who have pre-ordered the standard edition of Starfield (or if you’re planning on diving into the standard edition on Xbox Game Pass), the game will be released on 6 September. If you opted for the Premium or Constellation editions, you’ll benefit from five days early access. It doesn’t take a genius to work out that five days prior to 6 September is 1 September - and it’s true that in most territories, early access kicks off tomorrow. Not if you’re based in the US though. You can dive in today.
