To this day, I remain surprised by the fact that Starfield didn’t gel with fans in the way we perhaps expected.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the game - and it’s only going from strength to strength now that Bethesda has launched several major updates.
In case you missed it, multiple new features have been added in recent weeks - from city maps to ship interior customisation.

Creation Kit tools are now available for modders, and a brand new bounty hunting quest line has been introduced.
There’s plenty to keep returning players busy and, if you ask me, there’s more than enough to warrant naysayers giving Starfield another try.
Later this year, Starfield will launch its first story expansion, with the word ‘first’ being important here.
Bethesda’s Todd Howard has confirmed that Starfield is set to receive yearly story expansions.

Take a look at the trailer for Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion below.
Howard recently sat down with YouTuber MrMattyPlays who asked about Bethesda’s support plan for Starfield, particularly whether the studios hopes to drop yearly expansions.
“I would say we want to more or less, yeah,” Howard began. “How long that continues? Hopefully, a very long time but that's … we're planning for the one after this. So there will be another one. And I don't know that our goal is to answer every question. We sort of look at it and say, 'Hey what's the good angle? What do we want to add to the game as far as an experience or a tone?'"

It sounds then as if Starfield’s second story expansion is in the works but beyond that, it’s likely going to depend on how active the game’s player base is.
In case you missed it, the upcoming Shattered Space expansions brings an entirely hand-crafted new location.
“A mysterious power stirs in the city of Dazra on House Va'Ruun's hidden homeworld. Investigate a frightening cosmic threat, explore a new planet, and find unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear in this all-new adventure," reads the description of the expansion.
Shattered Space will launch later in 2024.
