Some Xbox users are being gifted free store credit for seemingly no reason, but nobody can seem to figure out what you makes you qualify for the reward.
Thank you in advance to Comicbook's Tyler Fischer for originally spotting this one!
Microsoft seems to be in a charitable mood at the moment, although they're cherry picking who they're choosing to be nice to.

As one user over on the r/XboxGamePass subreddit revealed in a post over the weekend, some users might have a little reward waiting for them in their Microsoft inboxes.
"The Spring Sale is back with great savings!” reads the message.
“Here is a $10 USD Gift Card that you can use to buy Games, Add-ons, Movies and Apps on the U.S. Microsoft Store. Redeem by 5/31/2025 and spend within 30 days of redemption."
So, how do you qualify for this? No idea.

Yeah, sorry in advance, but… nobody can figure out what makes you eligible to receive one of these freebies. It seems you are simply at the whim of Microsoft’s kindness.
Some users in the thread stated that it may be impacted by how often you spend money on digital Xbox products or whether or not you’re a Game Pass subscriber, but I can’t personally verify that’s true.
On the plus side, while the message in the Reddit user’s post states that their gift card is only for the “U.S. Microsoft Store”, it seems that users outside of America have been sent these too.
Either way, it’s best to double check if you were lucky enough to get one of these for yourself– especially considering they’re only good for just over a month.

Make sure you check your emails as well as the Xbox App however, just in case Microsoft feels like mixing things up.
