A rather innocuous comment from one video game reporter has sparked rumours that a bunch of first-party games from a specific rival console will be landing on the Nintendo Switch 2 when it drops, and whether said comment was merely speculation or based in some form of unconfirmed truth… they’re definitely right.
Yesterday, Sony and Microsoft teamed up to announce that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be landing on PlayStation 5 hardware on 17 April.
Alright, cool– what does that have to do with the Nintendo Switch 2?

Well, The Verge's Tom Warren covered the story, and they made a little comment towards the end of their article that's got some people talking.
Take a look at the Switch 2 reveal video below.
“Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s release on PS5 is part of a broader effort from Microsoft to bring more Xbox games to rival platforms,” Warren notes in his article.

“Microsoft first started launching previous Xbox-exclusive titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded on PS5 last year, and 2025 will include a lot more titles appearing on both PS5 and Nintendo’s Switch 2.”
It’s that last little bit that has seemingly inspired a lot of chatter online, but the weird thing is… this isn’t exactly news.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer stated back in January on the Gamertag Radio podcast that bringing Xbox titles to the Nintendo Switch 2 has always been the plan.
Plus, there are already a bunch of formerly exclusive Xbox titles on the Nintendo Switch. It stands to reason that Xbox is going to continue porting titles to the Nintendo Switch 2 based on that info alone.

Still, apparently this is news to some. Either way, it’s not quite the rumour that some are treating it as, but rather something that is (and has been for some time) factually true.
