Xbox players believe Call Of Duty games could be coming to Xbox Game Pass very soon, following a strange error message on the Xbox store.
Now that the drama around the Xbox and Activision Blizzard deal has subsided, with the merger likely going ahead following recent developments, fans are hoping this means Call Of Duty titles can finally come to Xbox Game Pass.

The head of Xbox Phil Spencer said that while they’d like to get the old COD titles on the subscription service as soon as possible, it’ll likely take time, though fans have reason to believe it’ll be sooner rather than later.

This is due to a strange message that appeared for some Xbox fans trying to buy some of the past Call Of Duty games, namely Call Of Duty Black Ops 2.
The Twitter user Game Pass Tracker shared an update saying: “Looks like Activision is gearing up for something BIG! In fact, it *LOOKS* like all Call of Duty games are coming to #GamePass.”
They went on to say: “Try buying Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and you'll see this message ‘Receive this item for FREE with your gaming subscription! (Game Pass) Checkout and it's yours FOREVER!’ Is #XboxGamePass getting CoD games soon?!”
It’s reported that the deal between Xbox and Activision Blizzard will be finalised by 18 October, meaning it’s not entirely out of the question for the companies to start working on new additions for Xbox Game Pass.

That being said, fans must take this with a pinch of salt, as neither party has confirmed or denied the claims, though if the official Xbox store is telling people Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 is coming to Game Pass, it’s more than likely that it’s telling the truth.
Fans will just have to keep their eyes peeled and their fingers crossed for an announcement, either before or after the Xbox and Activision merger is finally finished.
